Many vintage racing clubs offer driving schools, but few are as comprehensive as the school conducted by VRG as part of the annual Jefferson 500. Our School dated back to the origins of VRG when Ed Valpey spent countless volunteer hours building a curriculum of lectures, exercises and collateral materials to teach students of all ages and experience levels how to safely enjoy the thrill and camaraderie of vintage racing.

Over the years the VRG School moved from its original location at New Hampshire Motor Speedway to its current location at Summit Point Raceway near Charlestown WV. The School has evolved but it’s original mission remains essentially the same – Safety FIRST before Safety FAST. Today we describe the School in terms of what we call the “VRG Success Swoosh”.
