I'm looking for a dolly or "stand" for storing a FF engine (Ford 1500).
Not an adapter for a traditional engine stand.

I did see Pegasus sells a pair of "feet" for this engine but 8 don't see the value @ over $250 plus the footprint is kind of wide

John,

I don't really know the Kent engine, but if it's OK to rest it on the oil pan ... I use "mini mover dollies" from Harbor Freight for my MG engines. They work great and cost about 10 bucks on sale. The dolly is roughly 18" x 12" which is just about perfect for a 4-cyl MG engine. If your oil pan is irregularly shaped, you could add some lumber to the dolly to hold the engine level.

I also use these for my spare gearboxes, which sit upright (on the bellhousing) on the dolly -- the input shaft dangles down inside the dolly so the gearbox can rest completely on the bellhousing.

These are the "mini" dollies, not the full-size ones.

Mark, great idea. Thanks.

Btw, because the Elva will be in pieces in my barn for a long time I picked up a '57 Giulietta Spider so I have ome thing to drive. You probably know this car, it's Robert Kullas' red abnormale' that he runs out of KTR. It's a fully sorted and current car, so no unexpected surprises like w the Elva. Just get in and drive. Finally, I'll be able to start doing VRG events.

John -- good move with the Alfa! That always seemed to be a very well-prepared, reliable, and fast car. I think you'll really enjoy racing it!
